Feels so nice to have power steering in the Camry again that DOESN'T LEAK. Just sucks I spent all night at work to replace my leaky rack that I made manual so it didn't leak until I had time to fix it. Which was today. From 2PM till about 10. Ugh.

Power steering fluid leaked in my wife's Sable like a mother, dripped on some fan belt and made a lovely burning smell. And that noise when you crank the wheel to turn... EEEERRRRREEEEE-GRRRRRR-KCH-KCH

At least you had it up on a rack in the shop. I did one at home on the floor like 2 weeks ago. Not fun, especially when everything is cross threaded (my friends 98 Crayola).

Mine was leaking from the rack on both sides, but would only leak when parked so when I moved to where I am now it left spots all over the "new" driveway. I cut the belt off to stop it and it worked, but I waited too long to put in a replacement rack. Feels so goood.

Everything went perfect and easy until it came to taking the lines out of the rack. They were too close together to get a line wrench on them, and too close to the transmission and charcoal canister to use a regular wrench. THEN, it took me an HOUR to get the last line back into the 'new' rack. Couldn't get it lined up properly to where the threads would engage.
I had considered doing it at home on the garage floor but FUK DOT, I'm glad I did it work on the lift with someone else's tools :D

yeah its impossible getting those 2 in on those in a new rack. They just don't catch the dreads. Did the steering column give you a hard time? Sometimes they do not want to split

Mine split really easy. Getting the joint onto the junkyard rack was another matter. A little prying and spreading and forcing a punch through the bolt hole got it lined up though.
